Baltimore T-shirt Graphics
Concept 1 | Hair Spray
I wanted to design t-shirt graphics that are inspired by Baltimore. I chose Hairspray, a musical comedy film that was set in 1962 Baltimore, as the main graphic element. This particular film has various bold and fun iconic images.
A well-known title song from Hairspray along with the illustration that shows the iconic 1960s’ hairstyle from the film.

Concept 2 | Old Bay
This is a different T-shirt graphic inspired by Old Bay, a popular seasoning that was produced in Maryland. I loved the design on the seasoning box that feels very vintage, yet bold and fun. I also liked the bold typography used on the box and the bright colors.
Since Old Bay is so iconic in Baltimore, I gave it a pop art treatment to enhance and celebrate this iconic and bold Old Bay graphic.

Concept 3 | UTZ Girl and Natty Boh
I chose two iconic figures from the food brands–UTZ girl and Natty Boh. I tweaked the original character designs by adding fun elements that go well with their original looks.
I gave both characters a clean, matching shirts with a bow tie. Also, I made Natty Boh to hold a mustache on a stick and UTZ girl to hold a make up brush for the red blush on her cheeks.
